Cubic Chairman Mac Curtis Joins Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority Board

Mac Curtis, chairman of the board at Cubic Corporation, has been appointed by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin to serve a four-year term on the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority’s board of directors.

Also referred to as the Virginia Spaceport Authority, the VCSFA is a state organization focused on expanding access to space for both public and private sector customers while promoting STEM education, economic development and aerospace research across the commonwealth.

The agency is also responsible for developing and improving infrastructure to support timely, efficient, safe and low-cost access to space. It oversees the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport, a Federal Aviation Administration-licensed facility for vertical launches to orbit.

Curtis, an eight-time recipient of the prestigious Wash100 Award, has gathered extensive experience serving in leadership positions throughout his decades-long career in the government contracting industry. He has held his role at Cubic for nearly three years, and before joining the company, he spent three years as chairman of the board and CEO of Perspecta. His earlier executive positions include president and CEO of Vencore, which was acquired by Perspecta in 2018, senior adviser at Veritas Capital and president and CEO of Vangent, among others.
