He brings to the role over 17 years of business development experience in support of defense, aerospace and civil agency customers. In addition to business development, his other areas of expertise are capture management, proposal management, staffing, strategy and team communication.

According to his profile on the professional networking site, Palmer joined Astrion as a senior capture manager in 2024.
Before Astrion, he held the same role for U.S. space programs at Valkyrie Enterprises.
His industry career included time as director of business development at Delta Solutions and Strategies, capture manager at LinQuest and proposal manager at Exelis Systems.
Earlier in his career, the University of Colorado Denver graduate served as a technical and proposal writer at BI Inc.
