Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $218.7 million contract modification to sustain and perform logistics support for the F-35 Lightning II aircraft of the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, non-Defense Department participants and foreign military sales customers.
DoD said Friday Lockheed will carry out ground maintenance; action request resolution; depot activation; operations and maintenance; reliability, maintainability and health management; supply chain management; and pilot and maintainer initial training support.
Work will occur in Fort Worth, Texas; Orlando, Florida; Warton, U.K.; El Segundo, California; and Greenville, South Carolina through February 2018.
The Naval Air Systems Command will obligate the full modification amount from the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps’ fiscal 2017 aircraft procurement and operations and maintenance funds as well as non-DoD participant and foreign military sales funds.
Lockheed was awarded a $1.06 billion contract by the Navy in March to provide sustainment and recurring logistics support for the F-35 planes of U.S. and foreign military customers.
