TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 30, 2017 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) have performed initial integration of their respective technologies for a soft-kill demonstrator of the U.S. Army‘s Modular Active Protection System, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
Lockheed said Tuesday its Open Architecture Processor as well as Northrop’s Multifunction Electro-Optic System and Passive Infrared Cueing Sensor combine to develop a countermeasure that will work to protect ground vehicles against sensor-based threats.
MAPS will undergo full system demonstrations this year using an M1 Abrams tank.
