In this capacity, he will lead over 8,000 space professionals to meet the mission requirements of the company’s classified and defense space customers, according to his profile on the professional networking site.
This marks Young’s return to Lockheed, where he served as VP and oversaw the Advanced Program Development organization from 2019 to 2021.
Prior to Lockheed Martin Space, Young was senior VP and chief operating officer at CAES.
He spent more than a decade at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), where he served as sector VP for business development and strategy and sector VP of global strategy and relations.
His career included stints as an engineering consultant at the Tauri Group and as an engineer at NASA.
