TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 24, 2017 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is working to build a prototype cislunar habitat that would house astronauts during extended missions as part of NASA‘s Next Space Technologies for Exploration Partnerships effort, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The company said Thursday its full-scale NextSTEP-2 prototype is a refurbished Donatello Multi-Purpose Logistics Module designed to dock with Orion, which will serve as the habitat’s command deck as part of a concept for NASA’s Deep Space Gateway.
