TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 23, 2017 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has begun to develop an optical instrument assembly for NASA‘s Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope to support the space agency’s dark energy and exoplanet research efforts, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
Scientists and engineers at Lockheed’s Advanced Technology Center in Palo Alto, California, are working on the Wide-Field Optical-Mechanical Assembly‘soptical systems, mechanisms, structure, electronics and thermal control features, the company said Thursday.
Lockheed aims to offer WOMA as a primary scientific instrument on WFIRST.
