The portfolio company of private equity firm ATL Partners was established in March to design, develop and deliver small space and airborne sensors and payloads to national security customers. It is composed of two operating units: GEOST, a space payload provider ATL bought in 2021; and Ophir, an airborne laser radar sensor manufacturer LightRidge acquired in 2022.
LightRidge Solutions said Tuesday the two new C-level executives will help the company advance developments in national security space and defense systems.
As CTO, Williams will spearhead the creation and execution of the company’s long-term technology strategy. He brings to the role over two decades of government service related to hypersonics, space, sensors and defense systems, and experience in working as director of business development and technical fellow at L3Harris Technologies(NYSE: LHX) and president and CEO of OEwaves.
Congdon, on the other hand, will have oversight of LightRidge’s software factory and roadmap development for autonomous mission offerings as its chief software officer. His career includes more than two decades of experience in defense industry, focusing on heterogeneous edge computing, machine learning, remote sensing operations and software engineering.
“LightRidge is undergoing significant expansion of its infrastructure, facilities, workforce and leadership, and related capabilities to meet rapidly growing customer demand,” remarked Bill Gattle, CEO of LightRidge Solutions.
