LevelBlue has finalized its acquisition of Trustwave, a move LevelBlue CEO Bob McCullen previously described as a pivotal moment for the entire cybersecurity industry.
In a blog published Tuesday, the executive said the deal, which was first announced in July, establishes the company as the world’s largest independent, pure-play managed security services provider with an expanded portfolio of cybersecurity capabilities.
Expanding Cybersecurity Capabilities
Trustwave has over 1,000 cybersecurity professionals, including its SpiderLabs team, which provides threat research, intelligence and threat hunting support. The company achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and StateRAMP authorizations, strengthening its ability to serve federal, state and local government markets.
McCullen said the combination of Trustwave’s expertise with LevelBlue’s recent acquisitions of Stroz Friedberg and Elysium Digital turns LevelBlue into the industry’s most complete cybersecurity partner to help clients of all sizes.
Meeting Evolving Threats
In announcing the transaction, LevelBlue emphasized the timing of the acquisition amid rapidly evolving cyberthreats. The CEO said the deal allows it to defend assets across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments, offering clients faster detection, smarter response and stronger resilience by pairing “world-class human expertise with AI-powered, platform-led services.”
The combined organization unites threat intelligence assets, including the open threat-sharing platform OTX, Trustwave SpiderLabs and LevelBlue Labs, to deliver artificial intelligence-driven detection and global situational awareness with reduced alert fatigue and improved response speed.
Looking Ahead
LevelBlue said the acquisition is part of a broader strategy to consolidate the best cybersecurity capabilities and organizations in the industry. The company pledged continued investment in pragmatic AI solutions to provide certainty and resilience for organizations facing a changing threat landscape.
