Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has secured a potential five-year, $82 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to help the U.S. Air Force develop equipment and software for defending against small unmanned aircraft systems.
The company said Monday it will also provide technology maintenance and deployment services to USAF’s counter-sUAS operations at military air bases.
Work will take place at various locations within the continental U.S. and entails support for the AF Life Cycle Management Center.
“The complex and rapid proliferation of small, unmanned aircraft systems by adversaries presents new risks and challenges for our armed forces,” said Will Johnson, senior vice president of logistics and mission support at Leidos.
Johnson added that the company will work to help USAF update the operational capability of the branch’s C-sUAS equipment.
The single-award contract covers a one-year base period and four one-year options.
