Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has received a potential five-year, $960M blanket purchase agreement to develop software to support the Customs and Border Protection’s traveler vetting procedures.
The BPA, which has a one-year base period and four extension options, also covers the supply and maintenance of specialized traveler enrollment equipment including biometric systems, kiosks, document processing platforms and telecommunications technologies, the company said Wednesday.
Contract work will primarily take place within the Washington, D.C. capital region.
Vicki Schmanske, president of Leidos' intelligence group, said the company draws upon its SecDevOps and agile software development efforts to support the agency mission.
"Leidos has a rich history with CBP, helping safeguard our ports and borders, and facilitating commerce and travel."
The company brings experience supporting logistics operations at land, air and maritime boundaries as well as national biometrics programs.
