Lauren Knausenberger Appointed SAIC EVP, Chief Innovation Officer

Lauren Knausenberger, former chief information officer of the Department of the Air Force and a three-time Wash100 awardee, has joined Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) as an executive vice president and chief innovation officer.

In this capacity, she will oversee SAIC’s innovation strategy and corporate strategy function and align its transformation capabilities with the customers’ requirements, the company said Thursday.

SAIC’s chief technology officer office and innovation factory teams will be part of her organization.

Knausenberger previously led the enterprise information technology, cybersecurity and data and artificial intelligence directorates as the Air Force CIO.

She was the founder and president of Accellint and held leadership roles at American Management Systems and CACI International (NYSE: CACI).

SAIC also appointed Tim Turitto, former chief operating officer at Microsoft’s (Nasdaq: MSFT) federal business, as an EVP and chief of staff to CEO-elect Tony Townes Whitley, who will officially take the helm on Oct. 2.

Turitto will lead program execution, infrastructure organizations, business enablement and other corporate functions in addition to his responsibilities as chief of staff to the SAIC CEO.

He helped establish the U.S. regulated industry segment at Microsoft Federal. His seven-year career at the company included time leading the product sales strategy for the local, regional and national government business. He also held operations and sales roles at CGI Group.
