Carlyle Group Adds Former CSRA Chief Larry Prior to A&D, Government Services Team

Larry Prior, formerly president and CEO of CSRA and a four-time Wash100 winner, has joined The Carlyle Group (Nasdaq: CG) as an operating executive consultant for the private equity firm™s aerospace, defense and government services team.

He will provide the team with investment guidance on acquisition and sourcing and offer advice to portfolio executives on growth strategies, operations and management, Carlyle said Thursday.

Ian Fujiyama, managing director within Carlyle™s global A&D and government services group, said the company will leverage Prior™s experience and knowledge of the government services sector to assess new investment opportunities in the market.

Prior oversaw the buyout of CSRA by General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) for approximately $9.7 billion that officially closed in April.

The 30-year government contracting industry veteran previously served as vice president and general manager of the defense and intelligence group at Computer Sciences Corp.™s North American public sector business, which merged with SRA International in 2015 to form CSRA.

Prior to CSC, he held senior leadership roles at BAE Systems, ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT), Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), TRW, LightPointe Communications and High Technology Solutions.

Prior served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an intelligence officer and as a staff member on the House Intelligence Committee.
