L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) will continue to help the U.S. Space Force modernize and sustain a key military platform for monitoring deep space objects after the service branch exercised a fourth contract option valued at $145 million.
Forthcoming MOSSAIC updates will focus on a machine-to-machine communications system for space tracking and response tasks.
“Space domain awareness is rooted in data and having the right information at the right time, which is critical to warfighting operations in all domains,” said Ed Zoiss, president of space and airborne systems at L3Harris.
He added that implementing system advancements could help MOSSAIC users understand how objects behave in the space domain.
