L3Harris Taps Ken Sharp as CFO Amid Missile Segment Realignment

L3Harris Technologies has appointed Kenneth “Ken” Sharp as senior vice president and chief financial officer, succeeding current CFO Ken Bedingfield, effective March 16, as the company realigns leadership around its Missile Solutions business and capital markets plans.

Who Is Ken Sharp?

The defense technology firm said Monday Sharp joins the company with more than 30 years of financial leadership experience across the defense and technology industries. He was most recently with Peraton, where he served as executive VP and CFO. His background includes finance leadership roles at DXC Technology, Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems segment, Orbital ATK and Leidos. Earlier in his career, Sharp spent nearly 12 years at Computer Sciences Corp. and eight years at Ernst & Young. He previously served in the Marine Corps during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

“He brings relevant expertise, operational rigor, and a deep appreciation for the responsibility we carry in serving our customers and warfighters,” said L3Harris Chairman and CEO Christopher Kubasik, a three-time Wash100 Award winner.

What Is Ken Bedingfield’s Role in the Missile Solutions Spin-Off?

Bedingfield will continue serving as president of the company’s Missile Solutions segment, as it prepares for its planned spin-off in late 2026. He will lead efforts to expand solid rocket motor production to address growing national missile defense demands and oversee the segment’s anticipated initial public offering.

Speaking at an investor day event last week, Kubasik said the Department of War pledged $1 billion to the Missile Solutions spin-off, enabling L3Harris to commit billions of its own capital toward modernizing facilities that produce solid rocket motors and missile components, Breaking Defense reported.
