The Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration has awarded three separate sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts to L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL), Morpho Detection and Reveal Imaging Technologies to produce and install explosive detection systems.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Tuesday says L3 will manufacture eXaminer 6700 Medium Speed EDS under a five-year, $500M IDIQ contract.
Morpho Detection received a potential five-year, $500M contract to produce and install CTX-9800 MSEDS and CTX5800 Reduced Size EDS, while Reveal Imaging will manufacture CT-80DR+ RSEDS systems under a potential five-year, $200M contract.
CTX-9800 and eXaminer 6700 are designed for integration into baggage handling systems during installation, while CTX-5800 and CT-80DR+ are used for temporary screening operations.
Morpho Detection was acquired by Smiths Group from Safran in 2016, while Reveal Imaging operates as part of Leidos following its acquisition in 2010.
