The State Department has named L3 Technologies‘ (NYSE: LLL) platform integration division as prime contractor on a potential $418 million foreign military sale of Air Tractor AT- 802L aircraft and services to Kenya.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Monday the proposed deal covers as many as 12 Air Tractor and two AT-504 trainer aircraft, a weapons package, as well as technical and program management services.
DSCA added the Kenyan defense force aims to use the aircraft to supplement its F-5 fleet and build on its close air support operations against the al-Shabaab jihadist group and role in the African Union Mission in Somalia.
The transaction would require the deployment of at least five contractor representatives to Kenya, the agency notice stated.
