L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) has agreed to acquire Australia-based electronic warfare subsystems provider Micreo for an undisclosed amount.
L-3s electronic systems segment will absorb Micreo and adopt the name L-3 Micreo when the transaction closes in September following completion of standard closing conditions, L-3 said Wednesday.
“L-3 Micreo will enhance our core business in Australia, supporting multiple L-3 segments, ” said Christopher Kubasik, president and chief operating officer of L-3.
“In addition to our ongoing [satellite communications], maritime, warrior systems, aviation and aircraft modification programs, Micreo will add new in-country resources for our growing customer base in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.”
Micreo provides systems that use high-performance microwave, millimeter wave and photonic technology that L-3 says will aid in the development of future products in the higher radio-frequency bandwidth.
The Australian company also manufactures products for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and electronic warfare applications and supports airborne, land and security programs in the country.
