Kurt Bender , a 15-year information technology veteran in the aerospace and defense industries, has joined BWX Technologies (NYSE: BWXT) as director of IT.
Bender announced his new role on a LinkedIn post Sunday and said he looks forward to driving digital transformation in the government and commercial sectors.
He most recently served as senior director of digital transformation and architecture for BAE Systems’ electronic systems business sector.
Prior to BAE, Bender was senior director of digital engineering IT at L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX), which he joined upon the completion of the L3 Technologies-Harris Corp. merger in 2019 .
His industry experience also included roles as IT leader for Harris’ space and intelligence systems segment, and project management and systems integration posts with ITT.
From 2012 to 2016, he taught engineering technology project management at Purdue University.
