SDA said Tuesday Kratos Technology & Training Solutions will support demonstrations and potential future operations under its Advanced Fire Control effort. Specifically, the AFCGI contractor will deliver a common, enduring ground infrastructure and resources to the agency to reduce the complexity of multiple AFC prototype efforts.
The ground infrastructure will be key to the execution of the Fire-control On Orbit-support to the warfighter prototype system and future fire-control demonstration initiatives, according to SDA.
At the time of award, approximately $17 million was obligated as intial funding from both fiscal year 2024 and fiscal year 2025 Research, Development, Test & Evaluation funds.
In June, the agency issued a request for proposals for the requirement. It provided details about the AFCGI work, including delivery and management of ground segment resources, management of a cloud environment and the Demonstration Operations Center as well as delivery of various other services.
