KPMG has appointed Patrick Ryan, a more than 24-year operational and business development leader, as managing partner of the professional services firm’s Washington, D.C. office and head of the U.S. federal sector.
Ryan will succeed Tim Gillis, who is set to retire on Sept. 30 after a more than two-decade career at KPMG, and will oversee strategic growth initiatives of the firm’s Greater Washington offices and advance the career development of over 3,000 partners and professionals, the firm said Monday.
“Patrick is an experienced leader with a deep commitment to serving our clients, developing our people and making the difference for the Washington, D.C. community. His professional experience, coupled with his extensive knowledge of our federal government clients and the market, makes him uniquely qualified for this role,” said Lisa Daniels, vice chair for growth and strategy for KPMG U.S.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Ryan most recently served as lead of accounting advisory services for the U.S. market at KPMG.
His career at KPMG started in the audit practice serving federal and commercial customers in the Washington, D.C. market.
He is a certified public accountant whose industry career included time as vice president of accounting and valuation services at Integral Financial Group and senior director of SEC reporting at InPhonic.
