Former Commerce Department Official Kevin O’Connell Appointed to Copernic Space Advisory Board

Kevin O’Connell, former director in the Office of Space Commerce, has joined the advisory board of digital platform provider Copernic Space, SpaceNews reported Friday.

He will provide advice to the Copernic Space leadership on sector matters as the company aims to standardize an electronic interface for investors and customers to trade space-related assets.

O’Connell is the CEO of Space Economy Rising, a Washington-based consulting firm he formed in 2021 after more than two years of service as OSC director within the Department of Commerce.

Copernic Space aims to establish a blockchain-based online marketplace designed to help businesses and individuals to invest in projects and buy assets within the space sector.
