Keith Block, president and vice chairman of Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), will serve in the additional role of chief operating officer at the San Francisco-based cloud computing company.
He will lead day-to-day operations as well as global sales, partnerships, channels, strategy, customer service and consulting functions, Salesforce said Tuesday.
Salesforce Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff said that Block has helped drive the company’s growth and synergy initiatives over the past three years.
Block joined the company in June 2013 and also currently serves on its board of directors.
Prior to Salesforce, he served as executive vice president of Oracle‘s (NYSE: ORCL) North America sales and consulting services business and as a senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH).
He is also a member of the board of trustees at Carnegie-Mellon University and Concord Museum and CMU’s advisory board.
