Kathy Warden to Succeed Wes Bush as Northrop CEO in 2019

Kathy Warden, president and chief operating officer of Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and a three-time Wash100 recipient, has been elected to serve as president and CEO of the company in a move slated to take effect Jan. 1.

She will succeed Wes Bush, who will continue to serve as chairman through July of next year, and also join the board of directors, Northrop said Thursday.

Warden œhas demonstrated exceptional leadership in her roles leading the operations of our company, and she brings the vision and values to lead Northrop Grumman into the future, said Bush, a four-time Wash100 recipient.

Warden oversees the integration of Northrop™s new innovation systems business after the company closed its approximately $9.2 billion purchase of Orbital ATK in June.

She has held senior leadership positions since joining Northrop in 2008, such as vice president and general manager of the firm™s cyber business and president of mission systems and information systems sectors.

Prior to Northrop, she previously worked at General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), Veridian and General Electric (NYSE: GE).

Warden sits on the boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Wolf Trap Foundation.
