Joseph Mara, who held public sector sales positions at Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC), has returned to the company as vice president for state and local government and education markets in the Americas.
Symantec said Mara will oversee its grow to expand the firm’s presence in the SLED sector and brings six years of experience in that market and another 10 years in the cybersecurity sector.
He worked as senior director of the healthcare and SLED at Veritas Technologies after Symantec sold the data management business to a group of investors in 2016.
His background includes work with government agencies and educational institutions across the U.S. He also held account management positions at Ulysses Systems and Siebel Systems.
