Jonathan McEntee, the acting border director of Immigration & Maritime Science & Technology Directorate of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will be featured as a panelist during the Potomac Officers Clubs upcoming 3rd Annual Border Protection Innovations and Technology Forum on March 28th at the 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, Va.
During the forum GovCon leaders from the public and private sector will address the critical issues of securing the U.S. borders, particularly the development, implementation and procurement of new technology used in the field by CBP officers and agents.
As the Acting Border, Immigration and Maritime Director for DHS, McEntee works closely with Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to research, develop, test, and evaluate technical alternatives to meet Homeland Security Enterprise capability gap needs.
McEntee joined DHS in 2010 as a DHS Fellow on Capitol Hill serving as an advisor to a Senator on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Hes also held a many program manager and leadership position with DHS since 2011. From 2013 to 2018, McEntee was the deputy director for S&Ts Borders and Maritime Security Division. He also has experience with the Department of Defense working for BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman and AMCORP.
McEntee has acted as a liaison for the Naval Sea Systems Command and the Program Executive Office of Integrated Warfare Systems. He earned a bachelor of science in finance from Frostburg State University and a master of business administration from Salisbury University.
