TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 25, 2017 ” Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory has partnered with the U.S. Navy‘s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery to explore a healthcare delivery model that aims to boost both patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
The Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, hosted a test activity on the Integrated Practice Units model in which four teams of healthcare providers and support staff collaborated to support patients with complicated pregnancy, diabetes, lower back pain and osteoarthritis.
The report said participants found the IPU healthcare delivery approach “more accommodating” than the conventional model.
