John Schroeder, founder and executive chairman of MapR Technologies, has been named CEO and chairman of the board of directors at the San Jose, California-based data technology provider.
He replaces former CEO Matt Mills, who stepped down after a more than three-year stint that included previous roles such as president and chief operating officer, MapR said Friday.
Schroeder established MapR in 2009 and led the company as CEO and chairman for seven years following his tenure as a venture director at Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Before that, he held leadership positions at multiple enterprise software vendors such as Calista Technologies, Rainfinity, Brio Technologies and Compuware.
MapR also unveiled details about the company’s ongoing projects and partnerships including the addition of Anadarko, Denver Health, Netshoes, Societe Generale Group, Defense Department and Drug Enforcement Agency to its customer portfolio.
