AAR (NYSE: AIR) President and CEO John Holmes has officially assumed an additional leadership role as chairman of the board at the global aerospace and defense aftermarket services provider.
He succeeds David Storch, who has retired after 18 years in the chairman post, and will be responsible for growth strategies while upholding the corporation’s culture and values, AAR said Wednesday.
Holmes is only the third president and CEO of AAR since it was founded in 1955. He first served as director of mergers and acquisitions upon joining the company in 2001, then manage its parts supply business.
The company appointed him as president and chief operating officer in 2017 and promoted him to the chief executive role the following year.
