John Galer, formerly an assistant vice president at the Aerospace Industries Association, has joined Aerospace Corp. as chief of government relations, replacing John Plumb, who moved to the Department of Defense to serve as assistant secretary for space policy.
The company said Monday Galer will drive engagements with state and local governments, Congress and the executive branch in support of its expanding portfolio.
At the AIA, Galer was assistant VP for national security space responsible for representing the trade association’s consensus on his focus area and providing policy leadership. He was also a U.S. Air Force space operations officer and an adviser and strategic communicator for defense and intelligence chief executives.
Jamie Morin, vice president at Aerospace, cited Galer’s strategic vision, military service and industry standing. “[He] will be great assets as Aerospace continues to work to advance national interests and shape the future in space,” Morin continued.
