Avaya has named Jerry Dotson, former vice president for civilian sales, as the new VP for civilian and advanced programs within the company’s government solutions business.
Dotson will oversee the design and implementation of communication services to support the various operations of Avaya government customers, the company said Thursday.
Avaya also appointed Mark Castleman, former Bell Labs entrepreneur in residence, as VP of corporate strategy.

“Mark and Jerry bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm that will help Avaya continue to drive innovation and execution, ” said Laurent Philonenko, senior vice president of corporate strategy and development and chief technology officer.
Dotson was responsible for various enterprise information technology programs for the State Department, Treasury Department and other federal agencies as an executive at Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE: CSC) prior to joining Avaya.
Castleman is a former Vobi CEO and president of PBX Central who now serves as a limited partner at Capital Factory and board member at Cerebri AI and Preschool2Me.
