Jeffrey Nyweide, formerly GlobalOptions Group executive vice president and chief financial officer, has joined WidePoint (NYSE: WYY) as president, CEO and board member.
The managed mobility services provider said Monday Nyweide will succeed former CEO Steve Komar, who will transition to the role of executive chairman and continue to serve as a member of WidePoint’s board of directors.
“[Nyweide’s] hands-on technological and operational background, coupled with his ability to connect vision, people and ideas to drive strategy, are well suited for WidePoint at this point in its evolution, ” Komar said.
Nyweide previously worked as president and chief operating officer at software and services company Dataware Technologies, a founding partner of Northern Light Technology, an executive within The Service Bureau Company and a partner at New York-based venture capital firm Millennium Technology Ventures.
