Jeff Puffenberger, formerly senior director of the state, local and education practice at Riverbed, has been promoted to vice president for the U.S. public sector group of the digital performance software provider.
The 25-year enterprise technology veteran will oversee work with Riverbed’s work with federal, state and local government customers in his new position, the company said Wednesday.
Puffenberger joined the company in October of last year and has led multiple teams serving public sector clients over the course of his career.
He previously served worked at Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) as VP of cloud applications for civilian and at CA Technologies as head of SLED business. His career also includes senior roles at McAfee and Securify.
In the same announcement, Riverbed said Brian Bukowski, area VP for the Americas East region, elevated to the position of senior VP of Americas sales.
