Prior to this promotion, Atwell was senior director of advanced mission solutions within Ball’s national defense segment, the company said Wednesday.
“She has an impeccable technical record and will focus on execution throughout the entire life cycle, ensuring continuous success across our programs,” Ball President Dave Kaufman said.
Atwell previously served as chief engineer of multiple programs and proposals at the Boulder, Colorado-based aerospace contractor and has supported requirements development, architecture research and post-delivery efforts.
Her appointment comes two months after Ball hired two federal market veterans to serve as directors of its space sciences and government relations operations in Washington.
