Jana Weir Murphy, vice president and head of government affairs for Saab‘s North American market area, has elevated to the position of VP and head of corporate affairs within the region.
The eight-year company veteran will oversee government relations and communications functions across the U.S. and Canada, including industry association management, media relations and branding, the company said Thursday.
Erik Smith, head of Saab North America, said the company created the corporate affairs post to in a push to address strategic challenges related to its employee and customer base.
Prior to her current capacity, Murphy worked at the Federal Aviation Administration as chief of staff and worked in senior roles at Capitol Hill and the Department of Transportation.
