James Williams, a vice president at Parsons, has been named chief of the cyber infrastructure protection sector within the companys federal business unit.
He will oversee the expansion strategies of the firms physical and cybersecurity business in both government and commercial markets, Parsons said Wednesday.

[Williams], with his background developing cybersecurity programs for both federal and commercial customers, is uniquely qualified to lead our growth in this area, said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president and an inductee into Executive Mosaics Wash100 for 2016.
Williams previously held the role of director of business development for industrial control systems/supervisory control and data acquisition cybersecurity at Parsons, where he helped develop the firms partnership with FireEye(Nasdaq: FEYE).
Prior to Parsons, he spent two years at Siemens as national industrial cybersecurity business development manager.
He also held sales management and business development roles at various industrial automation firms, including Honeywell(NYSE: HON), QuantumVision, Marquardt Switches, DVT, Cognex and Cimtec Automation.
Williams also founded JW Vision and Automation, a provider of machine vision and automation products and services to systems integrators and original equipment manufacturers, in 2009.
