James Etheredge Promoted to Accenture North America Chief Exec

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has promoted 33-year company veteran James Etheredge to the position of group chief executive for North America in a move slated to take effect Sept. 1.

The professional services firm said Thursday Etheredge is the senior managing director of its U.S. Southeast business operations and will replace Julie Sweet, who will take the helm at Accenture as CEO.

He previously led the company’s products operating unit in North America and has been a member of the leadership team in that region for 10 years.

Marty Rodgers, managing director for the Washington D.C. metro office of Accenture, will succeed Etheredge as head of southeastern operations and continue to serve in his current position.
