James Black, a corporate law executive with two decades of aerospace and defense industry experience, has been appointed senior vice president and general counsel at Terran Orbital (NYSE: LLAP).
He joins the small satellite manufacturer after serving as VP and deputy general counsel of the North American division of U.K.-based defense contractor Ultra Electronics, Terran Orbital said Tuesday.
Prior to joining Ultra, Black was chief legal officer at biotechnology company Osiris Therapeutic, where he oversaw corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and litigation functions.
Black started his career in the legal industry at Hogan & Hartson, now Hogan Lovells, as an associate.
“His over twenty years of experience in complex corporate aerospace and defense industry law has proved invaluable as Terran Orbital continues to establish itself as a leading player in military satellite production,” said Marc Bell, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Terran Orbital.
