Ball Aerospace has appointed three executives to oversee its technological initiatives and tactical solutions and operations strategic capabilities businesses.

The company on Thursday named Jack Sauer as vice president and chief technologist, John Martin as VP of operations strategic capabilities and Paula Burns as VP and general manager of tactical solutions strategic unit.

Ball Aerospace President Dave Kaufman noted that the newly created position of chief technologist “will focus on critical future technologies and capabilities necessary to create all-domain mission solutions.”

Sauer is an 11-year company veteran who most recently served in Burns’ new role as tactical solutions SBU lead. Burns, who joined Ball Aerospace in 2004, was previously the firm’s VP of operations.
Under the operations strategic capabilities unit, Martin was senior director of manufacturing and test operations before he was chosen to oversee the whole division.
