TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 3, 2019 ” Jacobs Engineering Group™s (NYSE: JEC) aerospace business collaborated with NASA to use a company-built high-definition camera to take photos of the exterior of the International Space Station during a mission on Aug. 21, ExecutiveBiz reported Sept. 17.
The camera, whose battery can last 10 hours, is capable of taking 720p HD video and sending image and video files wirelessly to NASA™s Mission Control in Houston, the company said Sept. 17. It is intended to help the crew have better knowledge of the ISS™ potential structural vulnerabilities.
“The system may prove to become a standard for camera systems that can be used to support NASA’s Artemis moon mission for landers, habitats and roving vehicles,” said Steve Arnette, senior vice president of Jacobs’ aerospace, technology and nuclear practice.
