As CTPO, she will oversee McKinsey’s tech portfolio and strategy, internal technology team and innovation efforts to support clients, the management consulting firm said Wednesday.
Wright has more than two decades of experience working with large organizations to help them innovate, implement business models and migrate to digital platforms.
She first joined Microsoft in 2011 as vice president of information technology strategic services and was promoted to the corporate VP role in December 2016. The company appointed her to the CDO post in November 2019.
Her career has also included time as chief information officer at the U.K. government’s HM Revenue and Customs, BP and General Electric (NYSE: GE).
Wright is a Women in Science and Engineering ambassador, a World Economic Forum Chief Digital Officer Community member and a board advisor for the information systems and statistics department at Baruch College, City University of New York.
