TYSONS CORNER, VA, February 22, 2016 Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) will help update the Defense Department‘s network gateway under an $8.57 million task order from the Defense Information Systems Agency, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
The company said Thursday the award works to provide distributed tactical communications services to DoD and support access to the Iridium NEXT satellite network.
Scott Scheimreif, executive vice president of government solutions at Iridium, said the company will continue to work with DoD to connect U.S. warfighters and other users via Iridium NEXT.
