Iridium CEO Matt Desch Elected to Unisys Board; Peter Altabef Quoted

Matt Desch, CEO of Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) and a four-time Wash100 winner, has been elected to serve on Unisys‘ (NYSE: UIS) board of directors beginning in January.

He will bring to Unisys his experience in its core focus industries that include government, transportation and travel, the company said Wednesday.

Before Iridium, he led telecommunications software services company Telcordia Technologies and held a 13-year career at Nortel Networks.

Unisys Chairman and CEO Peter Altabef said Desch’s knowledge in internet of things will help drive the company’s efforts to help government agencies secure IoT-based devices through the Safe Cities initiative.

Both executives serve on the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
