Intelligent Waves has promoted John Hammes from senior director of innovation, research and development to chief strategy officer, bringing more than two decades of information technology experience to his new position.
Hammes will aim to expand the Reston, Virginia-based IT company’s work with defense, special operations and intelligence customers across various areas such as systems integration and cybersecurity, Intelligent Waves said Thursday.
In his more recent capacity, he oversaw the launch of the cloud-based Graypath expeditionary communications platform, designed to process message packets via multiple transport and encrypted routes.
The Excelsior College graduate also served at U.S. Army Special Operations Command for more than 12 years.
“We are confident that John Hammes’ tenacity and unrivaled ingenuity will directly impact IW’s journey to smarter, more secure, responsive and innovative solutions that our discerning clients demand and deserve,” said Jared Shepard, CEO of Intelligent Waves.
