Prior to joining IDS, Bauer served as executive director of strategy and operations at the Institute for Learning, Education and Development at the Department of Veterans Affairs and, before that, director of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment’s Human Capital Initiatives.
His government career also includes time spent serving at the Department of Homeland Security, the Defense Acquisition University, OUSD (A&S) and in the U.S. Air Force.
Bauer holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Wright State University.
