New York City-based investment company Insight Partners has agreed to acquire a controlling interest in Somerville, Mass.-based threat intelligence technology provider Recorded Future through an an all-cash transaction valued at more than $780M.
Recorded Future said Thursday it seeks to apply Insight’s experience and internal consulting business in efforts to drive technical and product strategy through a growth-related initiatives.
Thomas Krane and Mike Triplett, respectively a vice president and managing director of Insight, will join the board of directors at Recorded Future as part of the agreement.
Mike Triplett, managing director at Insight, said the acquisition supports Recorded Futures efforts to deploy its threat intelligence software to help clients in analyzing digital infrastructure, managing risk and mitigating security risks.
PJT Partners advised Recorded Future in the transaction while Foley Hoag served as its legal counsel.
Willkie Farr & Gallagher acted as legal adviser to Insight Partners.
