TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 18, 2018 Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, senior vice president of government strategy and policy for Inmarsat Government has said the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2018 works to recognize the role of the commercial satellite communications industry in national security efforts, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
Cowen-Hirsch wrote for Milsat Magazine that comsatcom has shifted from a military capability gap filler to a strategic element for the diversity, redundancy and resiliency of government communication operations, amid the increasingly contested satellite environment.
The 2018 NDAA is one of several developments in government that serve to support the U.S. goal to build on its space warfighting capabilities, she added.
