David McOmber
David McOmber, a two-decade IBM (NYSE: IBM) veteran and a former vice president in Big Blue’s federal business, has joined data center and cloud computing services contractor QTS Realty Trust (NYSE: QTS) as executive VP of public sector and federal sales.
QTS said Monday McOmber will also work to build relationships across its government vertical in his new role.
McOmber heads to QTS approximately one year after the Overland Park, Kansas-based company purchased fellow cloud services provider Carpathia Hosting for $326 million in a push to expand across the public sector market.
He most recently served as VP for IBM’s federal civilian and healthcare agencies line and oversaw strategy, execution and sales management functions across areas such as software, hardware, services and cloud.
McOmber’s other public sector roles at the global technology services company included sales leader for the state of New York and an assignment in Central and Eastern Europe.
