TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 8, 2017 Hughes Network Systems has entered into an agreement with General Atomics‘ aeronautical systems business for updates to the satellite communications system of a Predator B remotely piloted aircraft variant, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
Hughes said Monday it will equip the Predator B SkyGuardian with customized HM Series airborne modems designed to support secure communications and increased data transfer rates.
“With the development and supply of our customized HM series modem, aircraft operators and mission personnel will experience the benefits of protected SATCOM which includes the flexibility to employ the most appropriate frequencies for Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLoS) communication,” said Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of Hughes defense and intelligence systems division.
