Howard Lance
Howard Lance, former chairman and CEO of Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS), has been selected to succeed Daniel Friedmann as president and CEO of MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates, effective May 16.
MDA said Thursday Lance is expected to join MDAs board of directors, while Friedman will continue to serve as a board member.
Lance brings to MDA a unique combination of skills and experience that make him ideally suited to lead MDA in further advancing its strategy of U.S. expansion, said Bob Phillips, board chairman.
Lance currently serves as executive adviser at Blackstone Group and chairman of Change Healthcare and Summit Materials.
He served as president and chief operating officer at NCR Corp. before he joined Harris.
Lance spent 17 years at Emerson as executive vice president and seven years at Caterpillar as sales and marketing manager.
He was a former board member at various firms such as Eastman Chemical, Ferrovial and Stryker Corp.
